It is difficult enough for us to find time for ourselves, to work out, or even do the little extra things we really should do for ourselves everyday. Add an illness on top of that and you've now doubled, tripled, maybe even quadrupled your obstacles to overcome. But whether you are at ground zero or stacked with issues, this to shall pass. So take the time for you. Just do it. A Great low impact exercise that helps build confidence, strength and flexibility is stretching or yoga. Spending time to slow down, breathe and work thru blockages will always leave you feeling like you've accomplished something. There are many videos, classes and books to help you on the subject. Some of the key points to remember are don't hold a pose for more than 15 secs at a time, make sure to breathe in deeply to you tummy, then exhale slowly, focus your breathing in tummy, hold your tummy in tight. When you release your breath then stretch deeper, repeat, holding each pose for no more than 15 secs. Thru breath control and stretching you are actually sending oxygen throughout your body, giving life to new cells while opening up your energy channels. Stretching is a great stress and pain manager while helping your bodies ability to function at a higher capacity.

ASTHMA ANOTHER LOOK - an outsiders view of Asthma and their discoveries of how chiropractics work.
Chad a 29 year old originally adopted from South Korea has always been a pretty healthy guy, about 5 or 6 years ago he had expressed that he was having difficulty breathing. He consulted his parents and they decided to see a local Asthma specialist. That week they made an appointment and met with the new doctor who intern prescribed Advair to take as the remedy for his asthma. Jack, Chad's father, asked how long will he need to take this and the doctor said for as long as he still has asthma. It soon became a daily routine to take his prescription and while it did seem to control the main issue his parents hated the thought that their son would now be dependent on this medication and wondered if it would have long term effects on their son's health. One day while Jack was listening to one of his favorite radio shows they were discussing chiropractic care in depth. His interests were peaked and he immediately thought we should find a chiropractor and have Chad try this. After about 6 weeks Chad realized that he was feeling better and decided it was time to stop the Advair. That day he stopped the Advair and he never looked back. Of course as a parent they were worried about it, but they are happy to report that he does not need the Advair anymore. He can breathe freely now without his inhaler thanks to his care at New Life Chiropractic. He continues to visit Dr. Dionne Kellogg 2-3 times a week.
